How to add Georgian subtitles to a video
Adding Georgian subtitles to a video takes a few minutes: upload it to GeoCaptions, choose a caption look and press Add captions. A minute of Georgian speech takes about 13–33 seconds. Then you check the words it marks and download the video with the subtitles in the picture, or an SRT file. A video in another language gets Georgian subtitles the same way, translated.
Step by step
- Upload the video. A file from your phone or computer; MP4 and MOV work best. Say which language is spoken, or let the app tell. It all happens in the browser, with nothing to install.
- Choose a look. Font, colours and size for TikTok, Reels and Shorts; you see it on your own video at once.
- Press Add captions. Every word is heard and timed to the voice; spoken numbers are written as digits.
- Check and download. Every word is compared with a Georgian dictionary and the doubtful ones are listed for you. Fix them, then press Download video for an MP4, or open Subtitle files for SRT, VTT or plain text.
Subtitles in the picture, or a separate file?
- In the picture (MP4) The words are part of the video and show everywhere: TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, even a video sent in a chat. Choose this when you post the video as it is.
- A subtitle file (SRT) The words in their own file, each line with its time. On YouTube viewers turn them on or off; in CapCut, Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve you add them while editing.
A video in another language, with Georgian subtitles
If the video is in English, Russian, Turkish or another language, GeoCaptions hears the speech and translates it into Georgian subtitles, from any of 93 spoken languages. Every sentence is checked and the doubtful ones are marked; translation costs 2 credits a minute, on the Free plan too. Read the translation before you post it, and upload only videos you have the right to use.
Tips for Georgian subtitles people can read
- A font with every letter Some fonts lack Georgian letters or cut their tails. Try yours in the Georgian font tester.
- Clear of the app's buttons On TikTok and Reels the buttons at the bottom and side cover text. See where it is safe with the safe zone checker.
- Short lines One or two short lines are read faster on a phone than a long block of text.
- Strong contrast Light text with a dark outline or box reads on any picture.
Questions people ask
How long does it take?
About 13–33 seconds for each minute of Georgian speech. Checking then depends on how many words are marked.
Is it free?
You get 3 free credits a month with no card; 1 credit is 1 minute of captions. Free videos carry a small GeoCaptions mark, which every paid plan removes.
Can I do it on my phone?
Yes. GeoCaptions works in the browser on a phone or a computer; there is no app to download.
How accurate are the Georgian subtitles?
Every word is compared with a Georgian dictionary of 510,000 words and the doubtful ones are marked, so you fix only those. Automatic captions can still make mistakes, so look them over before you post.
