Georgian captions for Instagram Reels
GeoCaptions adds Georgian captions to your Instagram Reel. Upload the video once you have edited it, wait about 13–33 seconds for each minute of it, fix the few words it marks, and download the MP4 with the captions burned in. Then upload it to Instagram like any other Reel. The captions follow the voice word by word and stay in the middle area that Instagram's buttons and texts leave free. Free to try, no card needed.
How to add captions to a Reel
- Edit your Reel first. Cut and arrange it in the editor you like, then export the finished video. Captions go on last, so they stay in place and nothing moves them.
- Add the video here. A file from your phone or computer, or a link (YouTube, Google Drive, Dropbox). A Reel is vertical (9:16); a wide video can be made vertical first.
- Choose a look and press Add captions. 12 caption looks, each shown on your own video before you start. Every word is heard and timed to the voice, about 13–33 seconds for each minute of video; spoken numbers become digits.
- Check, download, post. The editor points at the words most likely to be wrong; fix them, and the video is updated in seconds. Download the MP4 and upload it to Instagram.
Captions that Instagram's buttons do not cover
On a 1080 × 1920 video, the buttons and texts of the app cover the top 160 px, the bottom 420 px and 150 px on the right. GeoCaptions keeps every caption line inside the middle area that is left. It is one set of numbers for TikTok, Reels and Shorts together, not a separate set for each app.
- 160 px at the top: the app's top bar and texts
- 420 px at the bottom: the name and the description
- 150 px on the right: the app's buttons
- the dashed box: where your captions stay
In the app this is the switch “Keep captions visible on TikTok, Reels & Shorts” in the caption style options. It is on by default for vertical looks, and you can turn it off. Without it, a caption can sit under the buttons on the right or the name and caption text at the bottom of the Reel.
These are our own measurements for a 1080 × 1920 video. Apps change their screens from time to time, so they are not an official rule of any app.

Questions people ask
How do I add Georgian captions to an Instagram Reel?
Finish your Reel, export it, and upload the video to GeoCaptions. Choose a look, press Add captions, fix the words it marks and download the MP4. Upload that file to Instagram as a Reel. The captions are already in the picture, so every viewer sees them.
Why are my captions covered by Instagram's buttons?
Instagram draws its buttons on the right and the name and caption text at the bottom of a Reel, and they can cover captions placed there. GeoCaptions keeps its captions out of the top 160 px, the bottom 420 px and the right 150 px of a 1080 × 1920 video. The same numbers cover TikTok and Shorts.
Can I add captions to a Reel I already edited in CapCut?
Yes. Export the finished video from CapCut and add the captions here; they go on top of your edit. Or download the SRT file or the transparent caption overlay and bring it back into CapCut, Premiere or DaVinci.
Can I put a hook at the start of my Reel?
Yes. GeoCaptions can suggest an AI hook, a short opening line shown over the first seconds. You can ask for another one, change the words, or write your own, and choose how long it stays on the screen.
Is it free?
You get 3 minutes of captions a month free, with a watermark and at 720p, no card needed. Paid plans start at ₾19 a month, without the watermark and at 1080p. Prices are in lari; a video that fails gets its credits back.
How accurate are the Georgian captions on a Reel?
Measured on the FLEURS Georgian test, about 8 words in 100 are wrong with clean speech; more with noise or music under the voice. GeoCaptions marks the doubtful words, and you fix only those before downloading.
