Georgian subtitles for lessons and online courses

GeoCaptions adds Georgian subtitles to a recorded lesson, lecture or course video. Use them burned into the video, or download an SRT or VTT file for YouTube, Moodle or another course platform. Students can follow along with the sound off, and the terms of your subject are spelled the way you set them.

How it works for a course

  1. Add the recording. A lesson or lecture from your computer: up to 5 minutes on Creator, 30 on Pro, 60 on Studio.
  2. Check the terms. Words the check doubts are listed for you. A term kept with It's right goes into My words, so the next lesson spells it the same way.
  3. Choose how to share. Download the video with the subtitles burned in, or a subtitle file your course platform shows as captions students can turn on.

What you get

Questions people ask

Can I upload the SRT file to Moodle or YouTube?

Yes. SRT and VTT are caption files that YouTube and many course platforms take; download them from Subtitle files.

How long can a lecture be?

Up to 60 minutes on Studio, 30 on Pro, 5 on Creator and 1 on the free plan. One credit is one minute.

Will it spell the terms of my subject right?

Common words, yes; rare terms and names may need a fix the first time. Fixed and kept with It's right, they go into My words and are spelled your way from then on.

Can students who do not speak Georgian follow?

Yes: a Georgian lesson can get captions in English, Russian and 57 more languages.
