How to fix a word in your captions
Open the video's edit page, change the word in the Add / edit text tab and press Update video. The word keeps its timing, so nothing else moves. The words most likely to be wrong are already listed in the Words to check tab, so you rarely need to read every caption.
Go through the words to check
- Open Words to check. It shows how many words the word check doubts: a word that may be misheard, two words that may be one, a word missing from the Georgian word list.
- Listen and decide. For each word, play the word or the sentence again, then press It's right to keep it or Fix to change it. Not sure? Leave it for later.
- New words are remembered. A name or a word the list does not know, kept with It's right, goes into My words, so your next videos know it too.
Change any other word
In the Add / edit text tab every caption is listed with its time. Click or tap the caption, type the change, and the preview shows it at once. When you are done, press Update video: only the short pieces of the video that changed are made again, so it takes seconds, not minutes.
The first 3 updates of each video are free; after that an update costs 1 credit. On the Studio plan updates are always free.
Questions people ask
Will fixing a word change the timing?
No. The word keeps the time it was spoken at, and the other captions stay where they are.
Do I have to read every caption?
Usually not. Words to check lists the words most likely to be wrong; most videos need only those. Still, read the captions once before you publish: no automatic captioning is perfect.
Does updating the video cost credits?
The first 3 updates of each video are free, then 1 credit each; on Studio, always free.
